Well I was supposed to pick up the car at 7 am but the car wasn’t ready, when I called the agent he said he was going to be there shortly “2 minutes he said” well he was 40 minutes late because he had a problem but then he show up there with an attitude stating that well everybody has problems, I had a trip program and I was not able to leave when I had plan so that was not good. On top of that a full cover insurance is extremely expensive.

The first van I tried had a broken seat folding mechanism. The second one developed intermittent brake problem, had to call a tow truck and go for a replacement. Will certainly remember the Alamo as a rental company to avoid.

Pick up & drop off really easy. Car was clean. Stuff was friendly. What I didn’t like, if you haven‘t booked a flight back than you can‘t pay with Debit card, only credit card.

The car was ideal for our needs. It was clean spacious and had great miles per gallon. The check in process was a little slow. Our main gripe was the cost of the hire car was almost double what we agreed to when we booked with Kayak. There was no rationale for this other than Alamo provided us with a larger automatic car. In future, I’d recommend Alamo stick to the previous agreements made so that customers don’t get a surprise when they start their holiday.

Communication on vehicle operation. Local staff were unsure on how operate some aspects of vehicle ie how to open and close rear hatch on Santa Cruze vehicle

Our flight got canceled out of Bangor and there were in fact no flights we could get out of Bangor. So our only option was to fly out of Portland. Alamo was going to charge an additional $700 a piece for us to drive there to drop off our 2 vehicles. This caused our group a big problem.
